We Come From Oort

During a trip to Connecticut to co-facilitate a workshop on the soul, I went outside on the dining room deck of the very lovely home we were staying and working in to smell the fresh air coming off the lake and to feel connected with the nature spirits I knew were inhabiting the garden beyond. Next door to the house was a standard sized tennis court and many trees hiding any neighboring homes and giving privacy to all dwellers in the area.

We were having a wonderful time during the week of the workshop. The weather was balmy and warm during the days (perfect for doing some work outside) and crisp and clear at night. The moisture coming off the lake assuaged the heat enough to make it really comfortable and everyone was having a marvelous experience.

While standing on the deck that night, I realized it might be a good time to go "orb hunting" as I like to call my habit of taking pictures into the dark to see if any of our light orb friends want to show themselves on camera. That is exactly what I did. I simply held my camera out in front of me and shot pictures of the black nothingness around me, all the time hoping that I would be greeted with some deLightful plasma faces once I went back inside.

To my utter astonishment, I found that I had taken a picture of a being that was definitely not a light orb, yet had not been present within my physical vision outside. Upon spending some time with the picture, I realized that it looked exactly like what I would imagine one of the Three Muskateers would look like - penetrating eyes, romantic hat with some sort of fluffy feather attached and holding a sword across his chest. I was so excited.

I shared the picture with a few friends at the workshop and found out that not everyone is quite as excited about amorphous beings as I am. To many people, they bring a sense of fear. I announced proudly that I was going to put the picture on my webpage (which I did) only to be asked if I thought that was wise. Perhaps the being did not want to be on my webpage was the thought of some others.

"Well," I replied, "I will ask him." Going away from the group for quiet and privacy, I asked the being if it was okay to put his picture on my webpage. "You can do anything you want with the picture," he said. "We don't care what you do. It is man that gets concerned about these things. We do not." (He was speaking within my mind.)

"Where do you come from?" I asked. "I would like to put something down as a title for the picture."

"We come from the Oort," he responded. This made no sense to me, especially his using the word "the" before Oort. I questioned him again to make sure I'd heard him correctly and he responded that, yes, he had said "the Oort". With that, the communication ended.

It was not until much time later that I looked up "the Oort" to see what it could possibly mean and discovered that there is a giant cometary sphere surrounding our solar system known as The Oort Cloud. I had not heard of it before my gossamer friend had told me it was the originating point from which "they" come. He must have had companions playing somewhere nearby.
