Voices Heard Out Loud By NaHomTima LeFlau |

This story takes place back in 1974 in the afternoon just after I had arrived home from school. I was just 14 years old then and my older brother, Michael, was on the living room floor messing with his stereo eight track tape deck. Now, we all know that the '70's was the age of drugs and fun and my brother had done quite a few of them at that point, so you have to understand, I thought for sure what was going on in the living room... what I was hearing from where I was in the kitchen, that is... was my brother on drugs again! However, my brother was not on drugs. He had been off them for quite some time, though he liked to take acid sometimes. This is why I thought what I was hearing was not real. He was in the living room as I said, putting in his tapes of Led Zepplin. In and out and in and out again. He was saying, "No! No!", then said, "Sheila, that is my middle name". Then, he repeated himself and continued with, "Sheila, please come in here. The tapes are talking to me!" I thought, "Oh Lord! It's true. He is on drugs again." I went into the living room to calm him down when, all of a sudden, he pushed his tape back in and it started laughing at me, calling out my name and the names of all our family members. I thought, "My God! How is this possible?" I knew that it was not recorded because you can't record on 8-track tapes. Besides, they were laughing at me and my brother and there were many, many voices on the tape. I said, "I'm going to get my mother." The tape told me to go ahead, but if I did, she would fall down the stairs and hit her head. A demonic laugh followed that statement. I ran upstairs and started screaming for my mother to come down and hear this. Wham! Sure enough, she fell down the stairs and hit her head. The tape was laughing in so many voices that it was hard to distinguish one from the another. My mother said, "My goodness! I can't believe this!" and since she was of the Christian faith, she said, "We need to take this tape over to your brother's house. He'll know what to do." We did so, and when he put the tape into the player, it played nothing but music. It seems as though most of my experiences have been with my mother and my brother... not all of them, but the most powerful of them. Believe it or not. |
