What I am about to tell you is the truth. The only reason I have recalled this dream and placed it on paper is because maybe it will feel like a dream one of you have also had. First of all, I have studied dreams for years. Dreams are the ego, super ego and the id running amuck amidst our daily troubles. But, to those who know, what occurs in some of my dreams or visions, this simple answer may not be so easy to explain. It has been over seven years since this dream has stopped, but it is as clear as if I had it again last night. This dream repeated itself every night, word for word - not for a couple of nights or weeks - but, for over a month. So, I ask you to listen to this dream and ask yourself... "Have I too had this dream and what does it mean?" __________________________________________________ The dream starts the same way each time. I awake in it as I was sleeping there. I am on a hillside under a small tree, feeling the warm summer breeze. The sounds of crickets and the star-filled sky surround me. The moon is so full and bright that it feels more like early dawn than midnight. I walk down the side of the hill to a small stream, and as I cross the stream, the water flows over the tops of my shoes. I feel the wetness of the water on my feet and the water is cool, but not cold. After the stream, I find where the grass has been beaten down; like a deer trail or animal path had been laid out for me. The weeds brush against my legs and a toad jumps out of my way. I even bump into a rabbit which runs off into the tall weeds along the pathway. I don't know who was more scared - me or the rabbit. The path crests another hill and I follow it. On the opposite side, I stop to catch my breath, and while waiting for my breathing to slow, I hear a low voice. I listen to hear where the sound is coming from. Some 20 yards from the left side of the path, leaning against a large rock pile, is a shape of a person. The moon, now behind a cloud, keeps me from seeing if it is male or female, but the snoring sound leads me to believe it is female. I walk over to the pile of rocks and the ever loud sound of her snoring. The moon passes from the cloud shadow and lights up her shape and face. I kneel next to her, and before I can reach for her arm and shake it to wake her, she awakens. I pull my arm back to avoid causing her any more fear than she already felt. Upon awakening she looks around and says, "I think we go this way," as she points toward a mountain ridge in the distance. She leads the way as we walk toward the tall stone wall. |
As we approach the lake in front of the mountain, another shape appears from the side. This time a male shape. He waves to us to join him at the lake shore. I walk across the sandy beach to the edge of the water. I feel the softness of the sand under my feet and fight the urge to take off my shoes and walk barefoot through the cool, wet sand. The male shape becomes clearer as we draw nearer to him. He is a tall black man with dark eyes and a broad smile. "The rest of the group is waiting for you two across the lake." I had never before seen the man or the woman I was walking with, but I felt like I had known them forever. __________________________________________________ Have you ever had a dream that was more like a movie than a dream? It happens to me a lot. Everything I have told you about this dream is true. The sounds, smells, touch and sight were as real as life itself. I paused here in the dream to confirm to you that this is how the dream occurred; this is how the dream felt. __________________________________________________ From here, the three of us walk to the face of a mountain cave. In the opening of it there are nine other people that I have never met, but somehow feel that I have known them all of my life. While standing around trying to figure out why we are there and what we have in common, we discover that the only piece of the puzzle that fits is that each of us has a birthday in each of the months of the zodiac. My own month being in the sign of Scorpio. This part of the dream consists of me talking to the other members of the group, or as I find out - the team. Each of us seems to know which way to go through the cave passages until we reach a stone wall. From the moment we enter the narrow passage, the wall around us begins to glow. Not a bright light, but a soft glow like a black light would give off. Once we reach the dead end at the solid wall, the glow becomes brighter. As the light grows brighter, we find an indented hand print in the rock. One of the team members steps up and is about to place her hand into the hand print when someone speaks up. "Wait! If the only thing we all have in common is that each of us represents a month in the zodiac calendar, then each of us should put our hands in the print but in the order in which the zodiac calendar is set up." | |
