Haunted Farmhouse in Ohio

My mother lived in an old farmhouse way back a lane quite a few years ago. After she was there awhile, she would call me and tell me about the lights going off and on, water running in the tub when no one turned it on, and a car coming up the drive, but when you would look, nothing was there.

I always tried to come up with an explanation so they wouldn't be afraid, but I knew my mother was not a person to exaggerate or make something up. My daughter, age 10 at that time, visited for a week, but called us to come get her. She was scared. When we drove up to get her, she told us about watching TV one night and the light in the room just went out. My sister, also age 10, got up and said, "Oh, that is just our ghost and she actually turned the light back on." That kind of ruled out any electrical problem, especially if the switch was actually turned OFF.

One Saturday night, my mother called and said she heard a car come up the drive. She thought it was my brother, so just rolled over and went back to sleep. Awhile later, she heard water running in the tub and got up to check it out. My brother was NOT home and the tub was almost overflowing.

Later in the summer, we went back for a visit. My husband and I were in the middle bedroom upstairs, and he was snoring away, when I heard a car come up the drive. I looked out the window and saw lights, but the car never came on up the drive, nor did it turn around to go back out. Awhile later, I was turned on my side with my back to the wall to go to sleep when, all of a sudden, an arm came around my waist from the wall side of the bed. Needless to say, I jumped to the ceiling and screamed to high heaven! It woke everyone up and scared them, especially my husband who was sleeping beside me. The thing is, I was wide awake when it happened and scared to death when it happened, but after everyone settled down, I wasn't afraid at all. I felt it was not a threat but it was very unnerving at the time.

My mother moved from this house not long afterwards. It was in Archbold, Ohio, a small farm town outside of Toledo.
