apparition photo of a smuggler

apparition of a young woman at the top of the stairs at Hollytrees Museum

Taken in 2005 in a lane close to where I live. I believe I have captured a spirit of the 18th century.  I have named him "The Smuggler" because the sea would have been much closer to this lane long ago and the area was renowned for this type of activity.

February 18, 2006 - Hollytrees Museum in Colchester.  I felt a presence and thought I could hear rapid footsteps so I took one picture of the area. In the picture there appears to be a young girl floating at one level toward the door.

apparition photo of a close up face

apparition standing by a Celtic cross in a cemetery

November 4, 2005, 14th century church near Colchester. It had become misty and as I drove down a stone driveway, I could not see the church, but I sensed there was a spirit presence after I stopped and lowered the window of my vehicle. I took two flash pictures, this was one of them.

March 2, 2006 - This photo was taken in Manningtree, Essex, renowned for being the location of many events of evil by a certain Matthew Hopkins. I took around ten pictures that evening. When I was about to take the Celtic cross photo, the temperature around me seemed to drop considerably.  In the LCD monitor, I saw a mist appear behind the cross, then clear away as quietly as it had appeared.

picture of four apparitions in the back of a chapel ruin

apparition of a victorian woman strolling the grounds of a priory

I returned later that afternoon to the 14th century church. I strolled around and took about 20 pictures. As I walked through an arch into the chapel area, I thought I heard a choir. I pointed the camera toward where I imagined the singing would have been  and captured the picture you see above.

March 19, 2006 - Outside the gate house of a 12th century priory in Essex. I had often driven to this building in the hope that I would capture one of the spirits I feel still roam there. On this occasion, I had been on my way home from work when I felt I should go there. I usually hold my camera in one hand and view the scene on the LCD monitor. When I took this picture, I did see "mist" in the monitor.

picture of a spirit apparition by a hedge

two apparition figures strolling the grounds of ruins

November 20, 2005 - Church across the road from the old Borley Rectory which was one of the most haunted houses that was destroyed by fire in 1939. I took around 20 pictures around the church. At one point, I saw a misty shape appear by some hedges about 25 feet away. I managed to take two pictures, both of which were found to contain this indistinct figure.

April 14, 2006 - St. Botolph's Priory in Colchester, Essex.  I decided to go to the priory ruins to relax. I tried hard to meditate, but thought I could hear whispering voices. The harder I tried to meditate, the louder the voices seemed to grow as if someone was deliberately trying to distract me.  I started to take photos of the ruins and one picture shows two spirit figures moving around the priory.

picture of an apparition of an airman

apparition of a young girl bathed in sun rays coming down the stairs of a walled garden

November 25, 2005 - Airfield in Witham, Essex. I intuitively knew that I should go and see if the airfield or any buildings remained. I drove up a private road and found all that remained were some old runways and a hangar, but I sensed the sound of aircrafts overhead and took about eight pictures. The last picture taken at the end of the runway contained a spirit figure. This could be of an American WWII airman.

April 17, 2006 - A private home near Siblehedingham, Essex. I had sensed "Victorian" while looking around the lovely landscapes, and I kept being drawn to the walled garden. I could see the rays of the sunlight giving the effect of divine white light in my camera viewfinder. Then, I pictured, in my mind's eye, the sight of a young girl walking down the steps of the walled garden and took a picture.
