PRIMARY INVESTIGATORS FOR THE SAN DIEGO GHOST HUNTERS

Maritza Skandunas: I am a professional Genealogist with over 30 years of experience. I have worked with Richard Milligan and John Miles of the Linn County historical and state historical societies in Oregon from 1980 to 1990. This involved historical data on the Pioneers of Oregon. I also worked with Evergreen Production Studios, Inc. with Larry Reaney on a production that was to be on historical data of the pioneers of Oregon for genealogical purposes. I've also worked with Cindy Clarke on a historical story on the Harden Families. That story was made into a movie script. At the current time, I am working with the Whaley House and with the historical department of the Del Coronado Hotel and many other historical societies. I have also been very fortunate to work with Rob Wlordarski on many of the historical projects. He has written several books on the paranormal.

Karen Ridens:  Currently, I am working as Vice President of Client Services for R&K Enterprises. We are a management consulting and assessment processing organization that has been providing comprehensive information processing services to the California K-12 education community since 1998. Prior to this position, I worked in the capacity of Systems Analyst for the Information Management Services department of San Diego County Office of Education. In this position, my responsibilities included, but were not limited to, writing all documentation, quality assurance, and training/support for software products developed in house. My specialty in the paranormal world is the ability to connect with children and mothers.

Dawn Gaudette:  I have been involved in the paranormal with many experiences during my lifetime. I have spent many years as a full time mom. I am having a great time working with the rest of the group. I am also the photographer and I document our investigations with my pictures.

The primary members of The San Diego Ghost Hunters have known one another for more than 15 years and have worked together in the paranormal for several years. They believe this adds to their ability to work together as a team.

Listen to Maritza Skandunas as she shares the San Diego Ghost Hunters unique perspective on their paranormal research and how they've been able to identify some of the spirits that they have photographed.

The weird energy in this theater is Thomas Whaley in the Whaley House. We always smell his pipe when he is around. We are in this theater alot and the spirits are used to us being there. We each have our own spirit that likes to hang around a certain member of our group.

The red mist is in the Campo Santo Cemetery. There are no lights in this cemetery and it is very dark at night. We felt this energy follow us from the Whaley House. You can see an Orb in the middle of the red mist.

Rebecca Olivas is a lady that lived at the Olivas Adobe in Ventura, California. This adobe is very haunted. We have several other apparitions from that same adobe that will be featured in our book. The photo on the left is a picture of Rebecca Olivas - Courtesy of the Olivas Adobe. The picture on the right shows Maritza with the camera in the mirror, Dawn in the white shirt on the left, and Rebecca Olivas in the middle. This apparition has been identified by the historian and others and an archaeologist stated that the satchel on the Rebecca's back would have been used to collect fruits and vegetables from the garden.
