Well, folks, this one is
personal. I spent 20 years of my life researching the details on this
case as it is a part of my first husband's genealogy which also makes it
a part of my two oldest children.
I considered writing a book
about this case, but this is difficult to do when you can't decide if
you believe someone is guilty or not. What you will read here, reported
by newspapers of the time, may seem pretty clear cut, however, after
you've read all of the details of this crime, I will share what I
discovered while researching. Suffice it to say, for now, that certain
parts of my research which should have been a matter of copying and
recording were made very difficult.
The newspaper articles will be
placed here weekly.
The first article shows
pictures of the four people involved in this crime. It comes from the
Todd County Museum and is a part of the history and memory of the area.
Unfortunately, it is amazingly simplified and has a major date
error in it.
Please read these articles with
an open mind, making no judgment until you have all the facts. I will do
my best to fill in the blanks about what happened to all those involved
at the end of sharing the articles.
