Current Solar Data. On many paranormal sites there is a small box labeled “current solar data.” The top box gives the current solar x-ray reading and the bottom box gives the current reading for the geomagnetic field. This data has also been affiliated with different levels of spirit activity, thus making it an important record for many investigators. We are quite certain that the average person has no idea what either reading actually means. In fact, if you click on the boxes, you will be taken to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) site where you’re greeted with graphs of all kinds and amazing amounts of information that takes a great deal of time to surf through unless you know exactly what you are looking for. Even then, you’re just as likely to come away from the computer screen shaking your head and just as lost as when you went in. So, we are going to try to make this as painless as possible. Oftentimes, solar flares occur. This is a sudden eruption of energy in the solar atmosphere and sometimes particles are released. NOAA shows this data as “x-ray intensity” or “solar x-rays.” The geomagnetic field is the magnetic field observed in and around the Earth. Its intensity changes when the solar flares occur, causing surges of solar wind, and sending charged particles from the sun. In the boxes for current solar data, you may see “active” in the solar x-ray box and “quiet” in the geomagnetic field box. This means that a solar flare has occurred, but has not, as yet, affected the geomagnetic field around the Earth. You may see “M class flare” or “X-class flare” in the solar x-ray box and “Storm” in the geomagnetic field box. This means there is much more activity going on in the solar atmosphere, and since the geomagnetic field says “Storm”, the solar flares ARE affecting the geomagnetic field around the Earth. Now, the importance of all this? Many believe that spirit activity is more likely to occur when there is a strong change in the geomagnetic field. This, again, is something you can choose to experiment with to make your own determination. We carry a small memo notebook and pen with us with all of the information discussed in this chapter written in it for each investigation. Upon returning home and viewing the photos we have taken that day or night, I write the photo numbers on the page and make notations by the ones that show interesting phenomena. This way, we have all information in one place and can just turn the page for the next investigation. Christina M. Schumacher |
