A 2011 CHRISTMAS MESSAGE
By Angie Christie
Hello readers of The Night Watchman Chronicles. I hope that you are all
geared up to have a very good Christmas and holiday.
As we frantically go through each day wondering if all
the work, shopping, and decorating of our homes will get done on time,
including getting the tree up and the sending of presents, there is
something else we should also be thinking about. At this time of year,
there are many families who get forgotten. They are the ones who
struggle to make ends meet and we must never forget the children of the
world.
I have never been one to preach, but I know someone who
has spent time in a homeless hostel with their child and has told me
that some 'mums turn up with children, no money, and find it hard to
cope.' These are the people that need thought at this time. Oh yes, more
than once we say, "There but for the grace of God go I."
The hostel I am referring to is run by a couple who
have a lot to put up with but are determined to make Christmas a day for
all the children there. They can run riot and as the lady who runs this
hostel says, "It will be a day 'as mad as a box of frogs.'
Yes, my friends, Christmas is a children's time. The
children in our families have love, warmth, and the best thing of all -
cuddles. They know they are loved and wanted.
As we open our gifts and eat our Christmas fare, let us
just take a moment from our busy, happy time to think of those people
who are lonely and ill, those of our elderly who would give anything for
a visitor to cheer them. Let us remember also our military who will not
be making it back for Christmas with their loved ones and pray that when
their time is up overseas, they will make it back to the arms of their
families.
Most of all readers, think of the children who need
praying for so badly. Our prayers and hopes do make a difference, if not
to them, then to ourselves. If all of you out there send a prayer out
for peace in the world, maybe we can make that difference and no child
or lonely person in the future need be hungry or starved of love ever
again.
I, from England, wish all the many readers of the Night
Watchman Chronicles a very, very peaceful and happy Christmas and may
2012 bring the start of a better world.
God
Bless You All
