A MESSAGE FROM ANGIE
By Angie Christie

We all, at one time, if we're pet lovers, lose a precious friend from the animal world. This can be a very traumatic time and, if you are like me, losing two in the space of two years, it's a double upset. If you go to Loved Ones in the links to the left of this story, you can see two dear friends that I am missing very much. The first one to pass after almost sixteen years was Khan - a very, very psychic chocolate point Siamese. The second was our beloved German Shepherd called Saxon.
Once gone, the memories come flooding back, don't they? I can be standing in my kitchen cutting meat or cheese and still find myself looking through our opaque glass door to the kitchen expecting to see a rather large head and, just in front of that, a little cat's head. Both hoping that I will open the door and share out "the spoils" that I don't want. Another thing I miss about Khan is when I have finished my breakfast. I used to feel a gentle paw patting my leg for me to pick him up. Once he had achieved this, he would snuggle down by my head with his paw behind my neck. His fur was so soft it was like cotton wool. If I felt down for any reason, Saxon, the German Shepherd would pick this up, lay his head on my lap and gaze up at me as if to say, "It's okay. We can work it out."  Memories that will never fade. I know you all out there have memories too - very personal memories that mean so much.
A few weeks ago, I went into the bedroom to watch a film. It was a Saturday. Wally, my husband, was sitting in the lounge reading. Suddenly, he told me he had seen something out of the corner of his eye. He looked toward one of our windows where he'd seen movement and there, walking toward my computer from the sideboard under the window through the archway where I am sitting now, was Khan, our Siamese. Wally could not believe his eyes. Khan looked just as he had in life - solid. I still wonder, why I was not there too to witness such a wonderful sight? How I would have loved to see my beloved cat again. Maybe I will one day when I am least expecting it.
Loved ones who pass are missed so much too and I know many, many of you would love to see them once again. I get letters from you on this subject that I try to answer and explain on my Questions & Answers page.
If we can imagine that when the spirit of a person or animal goes over to the Spirit World, we miss their earthly presence very much. If that person or animal has suffered on the Earth Plane do we wish, for ourselves, to keep that person with us? It is a very hard question for many to answer. Khan, when he passed, had suffered because his organs had packed up and the vet decided it was his time to say goodbye. BUT, is it goodbye? Not in my book it is not. I know that those we love in Spirit can see us, hear us, know our troubles and are around us. Especially when we need to think of them. I hear many, many stories of encounters by people who have seen a Loved One after their physical death and I firmly believe that we will all be together again one day.
If those Loved Ones did not come to me, how could I do my work as a Medium? Friends, I could not! No way!

Many religions have their own interpretation of Life After Death. I know that you will always have your own ideas just as I believe in mine. You see, we Spiritualists do not believe we are a religion in the true sense of the word. We believe that ours is a universal belief and that we are here only temporarily on Earth to grow spiritually and to learn right from wrong. To believe in including everyone as a brother or sister, and to try to help others to understand that they are never ever alone. Someone over in spirit is always walking with them through their life on Earth.
As time passes, I hope we grow stronger, more able to cope with the life behind us and walk boldly forward to whatever awaits us. And yes, our pets await us too, until that day that we are reunited again. God bless you all.
