OUIJA BOARDS WITH VIDEO
By Christina M. Schumacher

Ouija
boards are very controversial. Many claim to have had bad experiences
with a Ouija board and some are terrified to even try one due to stories
they've heard or movies they've seen which give the Ouija board an evil
reputation.
Personally, I feel the Ouija board has been given a bad rap. Many
have used it without scary results, communicating with very wise souls
(i.e. Jane Roberts and Seth). Like anything of a mystifying nature, they
are meant to be used with reverence, not for fun and games. However,
someone out there thought it would be great as a board game for kids
without giving them proper instructions.
I have a wooden Ouija board that I found at a garage sale for
$5.00. The board is from about 1917 and the "directions" on the back are
very explicit. They read as follows:
"Place the board upon the laps of two persons, lady and gentleman
preferred, with the small table upon the board. Place the fingers
lightly but firmly, without pressure, upon the table so as to allow it
to move easily and freely. In from one to five minutes the table will
commence to move, at first slowly, then faster, and will then be able to
talk or answer questions, which it will do rapidly by touching the
printed words or the letters necessary to form words and sentences with
the foreleg or pointer.
2nd - Care should be taken that one person only should ask
questions at a time, so as to avoid confusion, and the questions should
be put plainly and accurately.
3rd - To obtain the best results it is important that the persons
present should concentrate their minds upon the matter in question and
avoid other topics. Have no one at the table who will not sit seriously
and respectfully. If you use it in a frivolous spirit, asking ridiculous
questions, laughing over it, you naturally get undeveloped influences
around you.
4th - The Ouija is a great mystery, and we do not claim
to give exact directions for its management, neither do we claim that at
all times and under all circumstances it will work equally well. But we
do claim and guarantee that with reasonable patience and judgment it
will more than satisfy your greatest expectation.
5th - In putting the table together, wet the tops of the legs,
and drive them firmly into the table. Care should be taken that they are
firm and tight.
6th - The board should be kept smooth and free from dust and
moisture, as all depends upon the ease with which the feet of the table
can glide over the surface of the board. Rubbing with a dry silk
handkerchief just before using is advised.

Aren't those directions great! We certainly don't read things like
this in modern day board games, do we? These directions are amazingly
candid. Not only do they share how to use the board most effectively,
they share how to act and not act while using the board, AND they
guarantee results! There is also a type of warning that if you act silly
while using the board, "you get undeveloped influences around
you." Sounds like low level spirits to me.
I have been studying different aspects of the paranormal for over
30 years, so my four children have been exposed to, what many consider,
unusual areas of learning. This includes the Ouija board. I prefer to
teach them what to do and what not to do when dealing with anything of a
paranormal nature than to take the risk of them playing in these areas
with their friends with no knowledge. My children all have a healthy
respect for the unknown, treating ghosts and spirits with the utmost
respect and that's as it should be.
My guide, Sakeina, has made teaching much easier by allowing my
children to communicate through her. While I advise them on what
questions to ask, Sakeina makes sure that low level spirits do not enter
into their energy field. Of course, always before starting any session,
we ask Cyrus, the gatekeeper Sakeina assigned to us, to place his white
light of protection around ourselves and our home.
At the end of this article, I have attached a video of my youngest
daughter and her friend using the Ouija board for the first time. They
are trying to find out from Sakeina, as I do on my pendulum board, who
my daughter's friend's main spirit guide is. As you will see from the
video, the girls start out very shy and unassuming, then build up
confidence as the planchette begins to move and they feel more sure of
themselves.
Even though, at times, I leave the room to talk to my older
daughter, you can see that the girls remain very respectful as they've
been taught. Sakeina understands that they are children and allows them
to have some fun with her as well. We have a very relaxed communication
with one another during pendulum sessions, so I wasn't surprised at how
at ease the girls felt after only a short time with Sakeina.
The atmosphere that you see within the video was what the girls
themselves chose. When I ask them if they'd like to talk with Sakeina,
they said a definite yes and headed directly for the candles. They
enjoyed the freedom of creating their own unique atmosphere.
The girls also learned that sometimes the communication can be a bit
difficult depending on how strong the energy connection is, so they
politely asked for verification during these times. Their patience is to
be admired for being 12 years old.
Teaching your children proper respect is of vital importance. The
great thing is - they will pass it along to their friends if the
occasion ever arises where there is no supervision.
